target markets
The antineoplastics market has expanded by 22% growing to over $21.5 billion.
The performance of the antineoplastics class of drugs has been driven by the increased
uptake of a wide range of novel agents as well as continued market development for
a select number of standard chemotherapeutics. The key features of the most successful
new entrants have been a potential for more specific, unique mechanisms of action
and reduced side effect profiles. Kalos' product development portfolio contains
these key features.
The anticancer effects of the ANP family of peptides in vitro and in animal models
of human cancers have allowed us to base our choice of clinical targets on factors
that will expedite the clinical trials and increase the probability of success.
Based on a number of considerations and advice from our SAB, we have selected pancreatic
and other poorly addressed markets.
