the company
Kalos Therapeutics is an emerging drug development company with the exclusive patent
to develop the ANP (atrial natriuretic peptide) family of peptides as a new mechanism
for the treatment of cancer.
- Kalos’s lead drug candidate, KT-220, has shown remarkable effects on the most lethal types of human cancer cells, significantly reducing tumor size in animal models of human pancreatic and lung cancers.
- Produced in the heart, KT-220 is not a cytotoxic compound and showed no
adverse side effects in a previous clinical trial for congestive heart failure.
- KT-220 acts by a novel mechanism involving the MAPK pathway.
- Kalos’s team believes it can streamline the IND process and receive expedited FDA approval of KT-220 by leveraging its demonstrated safety profile and broad effect on aggressive cancer cell types for which there is an obvious clinical need.
- The Kalos team has proven expertise in all aspects of drug development at both venture-stage companies and industry leaders such as Pfizer, Bristol-Myers Squibb, and AstraZeneca.
- Kalos has assembled a
scientific advisory board that includes the world’s foremost experts on the ANP family of peptides and clinical oncology.
